Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: To distinguish advanced periodontal diseases, to know treatment approaches and to interpret this information in professional practice
Course Objective: To comprehend the principles and basics of periodontal surgical treatment, to learn the instruments used in regenerative and resective periodontal surgery, to comprehend the mechanism of wound healing after periodontal treatments.

  1) Learns to evaluate patients according to periodontal disease risk factors.
  2) Explains the relationship between periodontal diseases and systemic diseases.
  3) Learns the mechanisms in the destruction of the alveolar bone.
  4) Classifies gingival recessions. Comprehends the treatment methods to be applied in gingival recessions.
  5) Knows the concept of periodontal regeneration.
  6) Recognizes the biomaterials used in the repair of bone defects.
  7) Knows the drugs to be used in periodontal diseases.

  1) Will be able to apply advanced examination methods
  2) Will be able to plan and predict the results of surgical periodontal treatment.

  1) Evaluate the application and results of basic periodontal surgery techniques.
  2) Can regulate the time, type and dose of local or systemic drug use.
  3) Knows the progression of periodontal disease and evaluates the involvement of systemic factors and presents the necessary treatment approaches.
