Course Objectives: |
Students should know the basic principles and concepts related to surgical diseases nursing and surgical diseases of systems, comprehend the responsibilities of the surgical nurse in the development of health status, evaluate the physical and social environment of the surgical units, meet the biopsychosocial needs of the patient experiencing the surgical intervention, raise awareness of the developments in surgical intervention and nursing care in surgical diseases. It is aimed to develop knowledge and skills in order to increase the amount of information and to determine the effects of these on health outcomes. |
Course Objective: |
This course; Basic concepts of surgical nursing, the role of the surgical nurse in health promotion, the effects of surgical intervention on the patient, nursing care practices before, during and after surgery, shock and wound healing, infection control, ethical and legal issues in surgical nursing, fluid electrolyte balance in surgery. It covers surgical diseases related to systems and nursing care practices for these diseases. |
