Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: To ensure that students reinforce their theoretical knowledge by observing children aged 0-3, 3-6, school age and adolescence within institutions like child care, kindergardens, primary schools etc. Obtaining information about the developmental characteristics of children in different age groups (0-18 years old) through observation,
To report the developmental characteristics of children appropriately
To interpret by synthesizing theoretical and observational information.
Course Objective: The main objective of the course is to enable students to gain experience in observation techniques and assessment. The student taking the course is expected to gain the skills of evaluating children with typical and atypical development by using various observation techniques in different activity areas, as well as observing and evaluating the educational environment of the children and the education programs they are involved in.

  1) Selects appropriate methods and techniques for the observation according to child's age, characteristics, and needs (eg, use of developmental checklists).
  2) Students record and report their observations appropriately.
  3) Transfers the characteristics specific to the developmental periods in accordance with the observation report.
