Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is for the student to understand the principles of heat, light, and hydrotherapy, and to be able to perform basic applications.
Course Objective: Being able to select and apply heat and cold modalities, light-related treatments, and customize and apply hydrotherapy applications based on specific cases are key skills in physical therapy.

  1) Understands the impact of heat and cold applications on tissues in physical therapy.
  2) Understands the indications for physical therapy applications.
  3) Understands the methods and application techniques of hydrotherapy.

  1) Explains the cellular-level mechanisms of action of physiotherapy.
  2) Distinguishes the criteria for applying heat or cold in physiotherapy.
  3) Analyzes hydrotherapy methods and application techniques based on the case.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) Creates physiotherapy programs tailored to the patient.
  2) Applies cold modalities in physiotherapy.
  3) Applies hot modalities and hydrotherapy practices in physiotherapy.

Program Outcomes
1) Curriculum, rehabilitation programs, physiotherapy and rehabilitation methods and techniques related to physiotherapy and rehabilitation Has measurement and evaluation knowledge.
2) Evaluates the physiotherapy and rehabilitation process of the patients and plans them according to the needs of the patients.
3) Evaluates the clinical development of individuals in multiple ways by using different measurement and evaluation methods.
