Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: Historical Overview: Provide a comprehensive historical overview of Turkish foreign policy from the late Ottoman period to the present day.
Geopolitical Analysis: Investigate the geopolitical, economic, and social dynamics that shape Turkish foreign policy.
Policy Evaluation: Analyze the impact of domestic political changes on Turkey's foreign policy decisions.
Regional Relations: Evaluate Turkey's foreign relations with key regions such as the Middle East, Europe, and Central Asia.
Global Context: Understand Turkey's role and strategies within international organizations like NATO, the EU, and the UN.
Course Objective: Knowledge Acquisition: Students will be able to identify and explain major historical events and trends in Turkish foreign policy.
Critical Thinking: Students will develop the ability to critically analyze the factors influencing Turkish foreign policy decisions.
Research Skills: Students will enhance their research skills by investigating specific case studies and policy decisions.
Communication: Students will improve their ability to articulate and debate foreign policy issues both in written and oral formats.
Application of Theory: Students will apply theories of international relations to understand and predict Turkish foreign policy behavior.
