Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to teach students the fundamental concepts, assessment, and treatment methods in women's health and gynecological physiotherapy, and to provide an understanding of physiotherapy approaches to women's health conditions.
Course Objective: To understand female anatomy and physiology.
To learn gynecological physiotherapy assessment techniques.
To understand physiotherapy applications during pregnancy and postpartum.
To recognize and treat pelvic floor dysfunctions.
To follow and interpret current research in women's health.

  1) Specifies the anatomical structures present in the female genitourinary system.
  2) Describes the pathophysiological mechanisms of clinical conditions such as incontinence, pelvic pain, breast cancer, and lymphedema.
  3) Lists the physiological changes during pregnancy and menopausal periods.
  4) Specifies the symptoms of urogynecological diseases.
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) Selects and applies appropriate assessment methods for urogynecological diseases.
  2) Analyzes assessment results.
  3) Designs an individual exercise prescription for the patient.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) Conducts preventive rehabilitation approaches related to women's health.
  2) When necessary, directs the patient to the relevant healthcare professional.
  3) Conducts the assessment and treatment process using appropriate communication techniques and respecting patient privacy.
  4) Selects and applies appropriate physical modalities.

1) Curriculum, rehabilitation programs, physiotherapy and rehabilitation methods and techniques related to physiotherapy and rehabilitation Has measurement and evaluation knowledge.
