Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: Diabetes is a chronic disease that is common around the world and lifestyle change including medical nutrition therapy is the cornerstone of diabetes management. The aim of the course is to recognize evidence-based approaches used in diabetes treatment, discuss individualized medical nutrition therapy choices and make practices.
It is aimed to provide students with knowledge and skills about nutritional treatment and education in individuals with diabetes and to convey current developments in the light of National and International Guidelines.
Course Objective: The course explains
- the importance and effectiveness of medical nutrition therapy in diabetes.
- the importance and effectiveness of multidisciplinary approach in diabetes management.
-the evidence-based nutritional models that can be used in the treatment of diabetes.
-the evidence-based methods of approach to the newly diagnosed diabetic and specific population
