Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: It is aimed for students to know the basic principles and concepts of emergency and trauma nursing, to provide knowledge and basic nursing skills regarding emergency care practices, to define the mechanism of trauma, to know the responsibilities of the nurse in the trauma team, and to plan the nursing care of the traumatized patient.
Course Objective: This lesson; It covers the basic concepts of emergency nursing, emergency department operation, triage, basic and advanced life support practices, emergency nursing care practices in shock, trauma and systems emergencies.

  1) 1. Has information about the operation of the emergency department. 2.Applies information about emergency intervention to traumatized patients who apply to the emergency department. 3.Uses the theoretical and practical knowledge gained about intervening with trauma patients who apply to the emergency department. 4.Has sufficient knowledge about the relevant legislation in nursing practices.

  1) 1.Has sufficient knowledge about the relevant legislation in nursing practices. 2. Develops a behavior that is open to development and embraces lifelong learning in healthcare, where information is constantly changing.

  1) 1. Independently carries out a study that requires special competence in the field of nursing, in the light of the knowledge and skills acquired.
  2) 1.Can interpret and create new information by integrating the information obtained in the field of nursing with information from different disciplines.
  3) 1.Can follow current, national and international professional literature in the field of nursing, conduct scientific studies and systematically convey the results.
  4) 1.Can recognize emergency and critical situations and apply triage.
