Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: To identify the risks and hazards that employees may be exposed to and to teach precautions to minimize these risks. To teach the causes of possible accidents and illnesses in the workplace and how to prevent these situations. To provide information about national and international legal regulations, standards and directives related to OHS. To identify hazards in the workplace, to conduct risk assessment and to plan the precautions to be taken. To encourage a safety culture in the workplace by increasing safety awareness in employees. To teach how to make preparedness and intervention plans for emergencies such as fire and earthquake.
Course Objective: To approach the concept of occupational health and safety holistically.
To create and maintain a safety culture in the workplace.
To ensure that students can recognize potential hazards and risks they may encounter in their workplaces. To teach them to learn and apply risk assessment methods.
To ensure that they have information about national and international legal regulations and standards related to occupational health and safety.
To provide students with the skills to determine and implement the necessary safety measures and protective measures to prevent occupational accidents and diseases.

  1) Students gain competence in developing a proactive safety culture and taking preventive measures against hazards.
  2) It contributes to the training of professionals who are well-equipped, highly aware of occupational health and safety and who can create a safe working environment in their workplaces.
  3) Students learn the effective use of personal protective equipment and other safety equipment.
  4) They develop skills in managing ergonomic arrangements and psychosocial risks.
  5) They gain competence in establishing, implementing and continuously improving occupational health and safety management systems.
