Course Objectives: | In this course, the scope of international humanitarian law (law of armed conflict), which is one of the most technical areas of international law, its historical development, the rights it guarantees, the responsibilities it imposes on the parties, its written sources, practices and basic principles will be taught. It will be examined how these concepts and basic legal principles are codified, especially in the Geneva Conventions, which are the main regulatory agreement of international humanitarian law, how they are applied in international armed conflicts and non-international armed conflicts, which articles provide to whom and what kind of rights and responsibilities will be determined. As a result, it is aimed that the students understand these principles and norms by evaluating them according to the articles within the scope of the contract. |
Course Objective: | The aim of the course is to help students acquire the ability to understand the purpose of international humanitarian law, the safeguards it provides, and the main sources; to gain the ability to explain the principles and norms in this field using legal concepts. |
