Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: To explain and evaluate the purpose of food control in Türkiye and in the world, the basic concepts in food legislation, legal regulations regarding food in Türkiye and Europe, factors that cause food pollution and legal regulations.
Course Objective: Basic concepts related to food quality control and legislation, legal regulations regarding food in Türkiye and in the world, factors that disrupt food safety; To understand its effects on health and relevant legal regulations.

  1) Understands the importance of quality control and legislation in food
  2) Learns the organizations and practices responsible for food control in the world and in Türkiye.

  1) Learns the development of food control laws in Türkiye from past to present.
  2) Learns the regulations and nutritional communiqués issued in our country regarding food control.

  1) Learns the properties of food additives, their use in foods and legal regulations.
  2) Learns the chemical pollutants that cause food pollution and the relevant legal regulations.
  3) Learns the irradiation of food and the legal regulations on this subject.
