Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives:	Students who successfully complete this course will be able to: - Analyze a topic of inquiry through scholarly research. - Communicate findings of scholarly research using formal academic writing. - Evaluate sources and uses summary, analysis, synthesis and integration to construct a literature review on a topic chosen by the student. - Describe rationale for academic citation and applies APA citation style. - Explain stylistic choices and revises for style, content and consistency at the document, section, paragraph, and sentence levels.
Course Objective:	The course assumes a basic understanding of standard English grammar, vocabulary and mechanics. We will enhance those skills through study of the conventions of academic writing (including basic use of sources and citations), the iterative process of writing, and practice of a variety of academic writing modes and genres. The step-by-step process of this course ultimately results in each student producing a research paper prepared using American Psychological Association (APA) style.

19) Have knowledge about teamwork, leadership, risk management, patient safety, universality of social rights, social justice, quality management, personal development, environmental protection, occupational health and safety in the delivery and management of oral and dental healthcare services.
