Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: The purpose of the hygiene course is to teach individuals the rules of cleanliness and health required to live a healthy life. This course aims to raise awareness and provide information on issues such as personal hygiene, environmental hygiene, food hygiene and disease prevention. Thanks to hygiene courses, individuals become conscious about preventing the spread of diseases, protecting themselves from infections, adopting a hygienic lifestyle and creating a healthy environment.
Course Objective: Increasing Personal Hygiene Awareness: Teaching basic personal hygiene habits such as hand washing, brushing teeth, and bathing regularly and ensuring that these habits are acquired.
Importance of Environmental Hygiene: Raising awareness on the cleanliness of the living environment, waste management and disease prevention.
Teaching Food Hygiene: Providing information on healthy nutrition and food safety; emphasizing the importance of following hygiene rules during the preparation, storage and consumption of food.
Preventing Infectious Diseases: Explaining the importance of hygiene rules to prevent the spread of diseases and teaching the precautions to be taken in epidemic situations.
Developing Personal and Social Health Awareness: Emphasizing the role of hygiene rules for protecting health both individually and socially and contributing to public health.
Proper Use of Hygiene and Cleaning Materials: Teaching the correct and effective use of hygiene products such as soap, antiseptics and disinfectants.

  1) Creating Personal Hygiene Awareness: Students learn and practice personal hygiene rules such as hand washing, oral and dental health, nail care and regular bathing.

  1) Proper Use of Disinfectants and Cleaning Products: Learn the correct and safe use of cleaning materials and disinfectants and know how to use these products effectively.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) Developing Social Health Responsibility: Understands that hygiene rules are important for public health as well as individual health, and assumes this responsibility.
  2) Applying Hygiene Measures in Emergencies: Learn how to effectively apply hygiene rules in epidemics and emergencies and can use this information in practice.
  3) Learning About Microbes and Infections: Learns the ways microorganisms are transmitted and methods of protection from infections; takes the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
  4) Applying Food Safety and Hygiene Rules: Learns that foods should be prepared, stored and consumed hygienically and applies hygiene rules in these processes.
  5) Gaining Sensitivity to Environmental Hygiene: Students become conscious about the cleanliness of their living environment and waste management; they understand the effects of environmental hygiene on public health.
  6) Adopting Healthy Living Habits: They learn that hygiene is the basic element of a healthy life and adopt healthy living habits such as regular exercise and a balanced diet.

13) Hygiene Practices in Emergencies Maintaining hygiene in emergencies such as earthquakes and floods. Event scenarios and crisis management workshop.
