Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: In this course, students will gain knowledge about transferring information about management in nursing services into practice.
Course Objective: Ability to learn Nursing Philosophy, Mission, Vision and Goals
Ability to learn hospital and nursing services organizational structures and organizational principles
Ability to use communication techniques effectively
Ability to use scientific problem solving approach in managerial problems
Ability to lead change in practices such as total quality management
Understanding the importance of leadership in nursing services management
Ability to learn leadership and concepts related to leadership
Ability to learn new leadership approaches
Mode of Delivery: Face to face

  1) Recognizing the basic concepts of management and nursing management To understand the philosophy and standards of nursing services management. To be able to define the roles of nurse managers in institutions. To be able to list legal regulations regarding health and nursing. Ability to explain the importance of the management process in protecting, maintaining and improving health
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) Interpreting nursing services management according to the principles and theories of management science. Understanding the roles and functions of the manager nurse - Using techniques that assist management. Understanding their roles and responsibilities in solving the problems seen in nursing services management in our country.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) To have the basic knowledge to lead nursing services personnel. To understand the principles of effective management of nursing services personnel and to realize the deficiencies in personnel management. Ability to discuss the place of the nursing system in the health system and Turkish society according to the system approach.
