Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: To detect risky situations early in pregnancy. Providing necessary midwifery care. To protect and promote the health of mother and fetus.
Course Objective: To understand the importance of pregnant and fetal health. Knowing prenatal diagnostic tests. Early diagnosis of risks that will threaten the life of mother and fetus during pregnancy. Understanding early and late period risks and giving appropriate care. To follow the mother and fetus closely in special cases (maternal age, presence of infection, heart disease, diabetes, etc.). To have the necessary knowledge and skills to result in a healthy baby and mother.

  1) 1. Understands the role and responsibilities of the midwife in the protection of pregnant and fetal health. 2. Knows the tests used in the evaluation of fetal health. 3.Knows risky situations and signs of danger in pregnancy.
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) 1. Distinguishes early risk factors in pregnancy. 2. Applies the tests used in the evaluation of fetal health. 3. Counsels the pregnant woman and the family in line with their needs. 4. Follows risky pregnancies frequently and takes necessary precautions for midwifery care. 5. Analyzes the deviations from normal in mother and fetus during risky pregnancy and gives appropriate care.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) 1. While caring for a risky pregnant woman, she works with other health members in a team understanding and within the framework of ethical rules.
