Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: Knowing the duties, authorities and responsibilities of the midwife. To form a professional identity and to comprehend professional ethics.
Course Objective: To comprehend the stages, historical development and basic ethical principles of the midwifery profession from past to present. To comprehend the professional characteristics of midwives from the perspective of midwifery philosophy. To analyze the ethical problems that women experience along with reproductive health problems throughout their age.

  1) Knows the stages of the midwifery profession from past to present. Knows the professional characteristics, duties, authorities and responsibilities of midwives. Knows the concepts of professional identity and professional ethics.

  1) Apply the basic principles of deontology in the working environment. Uses the professional characteristics of midwifery in the working environment. Acts in accordance with the legislation in the working environment.

  1) She takes her place in the team by performing her midwifery profession with the perspective of ethical rules and basic midwifery philosophy.
