Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to provide students with fundamental knowledge about microorganisms, infectious diseases and transmission mechanisms. The course also aims to introduce epidemiology, surveillance systems and strategies for controlling outbreaks. In addition, students will gain knowledge about immunization, prevention strategies and control methods for infectious diseases transmitted through different routes.
Course Objective: At the end of this course, students will be able to:

1.Explain the basic characteristics of microorganisms
2.Describe the transmission routes and chain of infection
3.Define epidemiology and surveillance systems
4.Evaluate the emergence and control of epidemics
5.Explain the importance of immunization and vaccination programs
6.Describe prevention and control methods for infectious diseases transmitted through different routes
7.Explain the basic approaches to the prevention of hospital-acquired infections
Mode of Delivery: E-Learning
