Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: This course aims to provide the student with basic knowledge about the role, possibilities, and limits of architectural scale in spatial compositions by providing basic knowledge from design to implementation in architectural projects
Course Objective: The course aims to focus on;
- The understanding the relationship between basic concepts of urban economics and urban design,
- The understanding the role of changing economic periods in urban structuring decisions,
- The effect of production patterns on location choices and theories of location choice,
- Analyzing the mutual relations, positive and negative effects of economic activities in cities.

  1) The student attending this course; 1. Knows basic economic concepts. 2. Knows the basic principles of urban economy. 3. Learns theories of site selection. 4. Knows the effects of economic factors on land use and urban structuring. 5. Knows that cities are the center of economic activities and have a dynamic structure.

  1) The student attending this course; 1. Can analyze and evaluate what will be the reflections of the dynamics created by urban policies and decisions on urban space. 2. Understand urban and regional dynamics and evaluate the supply and demand of activities in urban space. 3. Can use basic urban economics models to analyze problems related to fundamental land use issues.

  1) The student attending this course; 1. Uses the basic tools of economics in design projects. 2. Understands the principles of sectoral location. 3. Has a good command of the economic structure of the city and is competent in making its projection. 4. Selects economic analysis techniques appropriate to the characteristics of the settlement subject to design.
