Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: To know the basic concepts related to the care of healthy/sick individuals, to understand the philosophy, roles and functions of nursing.
Course Objective: To know the concepts of Human, Environment, Health and Disease and to explain the relationship of these concepts with nursing. To know and adopt the philosophy of nursing. To know Nursing Theory and Theorists.
To know the roles and responsibilities of the nurse and the professionalization process. Knowing evidence-based nursing interventions. Knowing the concept of team and embracing teamwork. Knowing how to define stress and how to cope with stress.
Establishing a relationship between public health nursing and the conceptual and theoretical structure of nursing

  1) Knows the historical development of the nursing profession and nursing education. Defines basic concepts such as human, health/disease, environment and nursing. It expresses the place, role and functions of the nurse in the health care system. Knows nursing models/theories and explains their importance. Knows the historical development of the nursing profession and nursing education.

  1) Relates philosophy and nursing science. Relates the concepts of human, health/disease and environment to nursing science. Provides evidence-based nursing care. Provides effective nursing care based on nursing theories/models.

  1) Adopts the principle of lifelong learning. Understands the importance of patient safety. It contributes to the development of nursing science by following updates and conducting research.
