Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: To perform preventive dentistry applications, to diagnose dental hard tissues, to diagnose and treat from minimal invasive treatment needs to advanced tissue destruction.
Course Objective: To be able to prepare and restore tooth decay lesions with minimal invasive principles and to perform the follow-ups.

  1) Determines patient's restorative treatment requirements.
  2) Evaluates the clinical performance of the restorations.
  3) Knows and lists the effective factors in caries risk assessment
  4) Knows treatment decisions for direct and indirect restorations
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) Diagnoses dental hard tissue pathologies by visual, tactile method and radiography.
  2) Compares the advantages and disadvantages of different treatment options.
  3) Performs minimally invasive cavity preparations.
  4) Performs the clinical application steps of restorative treatment techniques completely.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) Makes the right treatment planning for the patient, selects and applies the appropriate restorative materials.
  2) Makes differential diagnosis of dental caries, interprets clinical symptoms in terms of dentin hypersensitivity and pulp diseases.
