Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: To analyze migrations and their social consequences in the modern age

To investigate forced migration, labor migration and refugee movements since the 18th century

To focus on the consequences of migrations on international relations
Course Objective: To understand different theoretical perspectives on migration

To identify the characteristics of slave trade, migration from Europe to the Americas, intra-European migrations, labor migration to Europe

To learn Turkey's place within international migration systems

To understand the concept of refugees and learn about contemporary refugee movements
Mode of Delivery: Face to face
