Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: To define the relationship between oral health and general health in patients who require special care, to comprehend communication techniques with disabled individuals, to create a dental treatment plan for disabled children, to educate disabled individuals and their families on oral health.
Course Objective: To be able to define the problems of disabled pediatric patients in the field of dentistry, to carry out appropriate preventive / therapeutic programs for the solutions of the problems. To know and apply advanced behavior management techniques in the patients requiring special care. To educate the disabled person and their families on oral health.
Mode of Delivery: Face to face

  3) Defines characteristic intraoral findings in special care patients.

  1) Performs all kinds of preventive and therapeutic interventional approaches for the oral health of disabled children.
  2) Performs pain control and infection management.
  3) Knows and applies advanced behavior management techniques in patients who require special care.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) Diagnoses, treats and follows up oro-dental problems in disabled children, applies advanced behavior management techniques, and takes responsibility throughout the entire process.
