Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: The aim is to enable students to apply clinical biochemistry tests, carry out quality control practices, obtain appropriate samples for tests, understand how physiological processes and preanalytical factors affect the tests, learn the relationship of tests with body systems and how they are affected by diseases.
Course Objective: To learn basic clinical analyses, to learn and apply basic urine and blood tests, to teach students to learn and apply kidney function tests, liver function tests, carbohydrate, lipid and hormone tests.
Mode of Delivery: Face to face

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge (Described as Theoritical and/or Factual Knowledge.)
  1) Explain the analytical and clinical performance parameters of laboratory tests
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) Carry out laboratory quality control, evaluate statistics and discuss the laboratory errors
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
