Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: To know cell structure and function.
To comprehend the location and functions of tissues.
know the stages of human embryology
Course Objective: To know the histological features of cells and basic tissues such as epithelium, connective tissue, specialized connective tissues, supporting connective tissues, muscle and nerve tissues. To relate these tissues to human anatomy and physiology. To know fertilization and implantation processes at the beginning of embryological development. To comprehend which organ systems the germ layers developing during the gastrulation process differentiate into, the embryological development and defects of the musculoskeletal system.
Mode of Delivery: Face to face

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge (Described as Theoritical and/or Factual Knowledge.)
  1) Knows the microscopic features, differences and classification of four basic tissues.
  2) List the movement system formed by cartilage, bone and muscle tissues.
  3) Relates the functional distribution of nervous tissue in the Nervous System.
  4) Knows the fertilization event as a result of oogenesis and spermatogenesis processes in the reproductive system.
  5) Comprehends the processes in the first 3 weeks of development.
  6) Knows congenital malformations with their developmental mechanisms.
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) Classifies epithelial tissue according to their functions and structural differences.
  2) Lists the functions and properties of connective tissue in all organs by associating them.
  3) Tells the structural differences of muscle tissue according to their functions.
  4) Explain the histological features of each organ of the Nervous System with their differences.
  5) Makes connections between processes in the first 5 weeks of development
  6) Explains teratogens that occur due to the mechanism affected by teratogens in embryological development processes.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) It advocates the importance of basics sciences related to physical therapy and rehabilitation.
  2) analyzes the health of the patient in the light of information about the movement system of the human body.
