Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: To know the application areas of Public Health Nursing and to gain expertise in these areas.
Course Objective: To be able to apply nursing initiatives and skills for community health.
To exhibit health protection and improvement behaviors.
Knowing early diagnosis and screenings.
Developing a community health program.
To be able to comprehend the role in the health organization.
To provide health education and counseling.
To be able to follow children and adolescents.
To be able to follow up women and pregnant women aged 15-49.
To be able to follow the elderly and individuals with chronic diseases.

  1) To develop and deepen their knowledge of public health and nursing at the level of expertise.

  1) Using the theoretical and applied knowledge at the level of expertise. To create new knowledge by integrating the knowledge in the field with the knowledge from different disciplines. To take a role as a case manager in solving the problems of the individual, family, group and society related to the field.
  2) List the basic principles of public health nursing, Examines the health problems of individuals, families and society, Discusses early diagnosis and screening programs specific to age groups, Analyzes the needs of disadvantaged groups in society, Examines disasters and the problems they cause Discuss Turkey's health care system
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) To construct a problem in the field independently, to develop a solution method, to solve it, to evaluate the results and to apply when necessary. To develop clinical guidelines and clinical practice standards related to the field. To be able to apply the knowledge and problem solving skills gained in the field in interdisciplinary studies. To be able to use information and communication technologies at the level required by the field.
