Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: Aim of this course is to have knowledge of basic concepts in general chemistry and gain the skills of preparing various solutions in the laboratory.
Course Objective: 1. To gain ability of doing chemistry experiments under the safe conditions,
2. Learning chemistry knowledge with the experiments,
3. Applying basic techniques and using instruments,
4. Writing scientific reports,
5. Understanding the relationship between daily life and chemicals.

  1) 1. Comprehends the substance, properties of matter and its measurement. 2. Knows chemical bonds, chemical reactions and stoichiometry. 3. Knows the chemical properties of gases.

  1) 1. Explain the basic concepts and principles of chemistry. 2. Explain the structure, properties and reactions of chemical compounds. 3. Solves problems by using properties of gases.

  1) Gains the ability to work independently.
  2) Develops questioning ability. Establishes cause-effect relationship. acquire the ability to use the library.
  3) He/She uses his/her mother tongue effectively and thus improves his/hers communication skills. Gains the ability to work effectively in groups, both in the classroom and in the laboratory, and to work as a leader and group member.
  4) Knows modern procedures and regulations for the safe use and disposal of chemical materials. Uses the knowledge learned in this course in other basic and clinical science courses. Students acquire the ability to apply the theoretical and practical knowledge they have acquired in chemistry or multidisciplinary fields including chemistry or in chemistry-based industries.
