Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: This course aims to introduce students to the general terms and principles of economics and to teach the fundamentals of microeconomics. The law of supply and demand, elasticities, market equilibrium, market efficiency, market equilibrium under perfect and imperfect competition conditions in the long and short run, factor markets, saving, investment, growth, functions of money and money markets are the primary topics of the course.
Course Objective: This course aims to enhance the analytical thinking skills of the students, to teach them how to acquire and interpret fundamental knowledge and data about economics from diverse disciplines in understanding real-world problems or even more complicated economic policy issues and how to apply this knowledge into day to day business practices.
