Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: Fostering the intererst of students towards the activity and organizations for social benefit by introducing concepts such as civil society, volunteerism and project managment.
Course Objective: Discussing the basic concepts, history and the functions of civil society, the basic tenets of volunteerism, informing students about the civic sphere in Turkey, introducing project cycle managment.

  1) Basic concepts and the history of civil society is learnt.
  2) The basic tenets of volunteerism is learnt.
  3) The differences between activity/pracitce, service and project are explained.

  1) Acquires the ability to write and evaluate projects.
  2) Develops cooperation with institutions and organizations.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) Participates in classroom discussions and develops ideas and views about civil society, volunteering, project implementation and real-life social issues.
  2) Gains the ability to conduct group work.
  3) Students are informed on the civil society organizations in Turkey and their topics of interest.
  4) Project cycle management and project logic are learned.
  5) Develops the ability to analyze and find solutions to social issues of interest.

2) Explains the theories of psychology and human behavior based on theoretical foundations.
3) Explains the substructures of human and animal cognitive processes in the nervous system.
4) Conducts independent research within the framework of scientific principles.
5) Examines the emergence of psychology as a discipline, its development, and the process of decomposition into sub-fields in a historical perspective.
