PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM:

To be able to diagnose, identify and classify dental and skeletal anomalies. To gain theoretical and practical knowledge about orthodontic treatment methods. To be able to perform and interpret the cephalometric analyzes and soft tissue analyzes required for diagnosis and treatment prediction. To be able to make appropriate treatment plans for the cases diagnosed. To have the knowledge and clinical experience to treat orthodontic cases with contemporary removable and fixed orthodontic treatment methods. To be able to make orthognathic surgery planning and surgical preparations for patients with severe skeletal deformity, to work in coordination with the surgeons who will perform the surgery. To be able to take part in interdisciplinary working groups that coordinate the treatment of patients with cleft lip and palate, to be equipped to respond to all orthodontic needs of these patients from infancy to adulthood. To be able to interact with other branches of dentistry in interdisciplinary treatments and to fulfill one's own duty. To gain knowledge and experience about differential diagnosis of temporomandibular joint pathologies and treatments for them. To be able to reach the necessary resources by scanning the literature, to plan laboratory or clinical experiments using the technical and theoretical knowledge and skills gained, to take part in a thesis or a project under the supervision of a supervisor.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:

1. T.C. Having a Faculty of Dentistry and realization of Istanbul Kent University Graduate Education and Training Regulations.
2.In the admission of doctoral candidate students, one of these scores from one of the international language exams whose equivalence is accepted by ÖSYM other than their mother tongue.
3. Candidates; With ALES score, you must have a minimum score of 55 or an equivalent score from one of the exams that have been equivalent by YÖK.
4. The candidate whose application is accepted is taken to the candidate exam. Score, foreign language evaluation, completion and undergraduate evaluation are not made in student admission. In terms of evaluation, ALES score is not taken into account as of 50%.
5. Candidates applying to the Orthodontic Doctorate Program; It is accepted within the quota by ranking over the general score consisting of 50% of the ALES score, 20% of the undergraduate graduation grade, 20% of the written science exam or oral interview and 10% of the foreign language exam. The applications of foreign candidates are evaluated among themselves if they meet the admission criteria and are included in the general quota.

In order to graduate from the Pedodontics Doctorate Program, it is necessary to achieve at least 3.00 AGNO out of 4.00, to successfully complete the compulsory courses and the required number of elective courses in the program, and to be found successful by the jury in which the thesis is defended.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING:

In order to be accepted to the institute, those who want to transfer from one of the institutes of another university that are similar to an institute of the university and whose equivalence is approved by the relevant board, have completed at least one semester of graduate education in the institute where the student first entered, have been successful in all the courses they have taken, and have been transferred to the institute. Students must have fulfilled the admission requirements for the graduate programs they wish to pursue.

1) 1. To have knowledge about the current use of corrective orthodontic treatment. 2. Understanding the interdisciplinary approach by observing the examples of patients followed up with other branches. 3. To know the iatrogenic effects of orthodontic treatment. 4. To understand the necessity of retention after orthodontic treatment and to have knowledge about retention methods. 5. To have knowledge and practice about current practices in orthodontics.6. To treat patients with orthodontic problems with mobile or fixed devices.

2) 1. Applying fixed orthodontic treatment 2. Informing the patient about current orthodontic treatment methods 3. To diagnose cleft lip and palate and obstructive sleep apnea, to inform and treat the patient about treatment options 4. Planning and execution of preventive and preventive orthodontic treatment in the mixed dentition period. 5. Bending the holder and active elements of a movable appliance properly and recognizing the quality of the technician's work. 6. Designing and making simple mobile devices.

3) 1. Selecting and prioritizing treatment options according to the needs of each patient. Informing the patient about possible orthodontic treatment methods and successfully applying and completing the treatment. 2. To know the properties, indications and effects of orthodontic appliances. 3. To know and apply current treatment techniques such as interdisciplinary approach, clear aligners, digital orthodontics, adult or adolescent treatment, 4. To know the complications of orthodontic treatment. 5. Performing orthodontic evaluation and performing preventive and curative treatment in the mixed dentition period.
