PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM:

The aim of the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Thesis Master's Program is to train scientists who have knowledge of the international gastronomy literature and practice and aim to bring innovation to the academy and food and beverage industry.

DEGREE AWARDED:

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Yüksek Lisans .

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:

To have a bachelor's degree, to get at least 55 points from the ALES Verbal score type.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:

İlgili programdan mezun olacak öğrenci aşağıdaki şartları yerine getirmek durumundadır:
1-Master's program with thesis consisting of at least 60 ECTS; It consists of at least 8 courses of 24 credits and a non-credit seminar course, as well as a thesis of at least 60 ECTS, a total of 120 ECTS.

2-A student can enroll in a maximum of 15 credits per semester. Credit and evaluation
It is carried out according to the principles determined by the Senate.

3- Courses in which the student is successful in undergraduate education are courses in the graduate education type.
does not count towards the load and credit.

4- The student must have a minimum grade of 2.00 (CC) in order to be considered successful in a course in master's programs with and without thesis.

5- Thesis and seminar courses are non-credit and evaluated with a grade of B or S. The student registers for the Thesis-1 course at the beginning of the second or third semester, based on the opinion of his/her advisor.

6- The duration of completing the master's program with thesis is four semesters, starting from the semester in which the courses related to the program he/she is enrolled in, excluding the time spent in scientific preparation, regardless of whether he/she is registered for each semester, and the program is completed in a maximum of six semesters. Students who fail to successfully complete the credit courses and seminar courses in the curriculum at the end of the four semesters, or fail in the thesis study within the maximum period of time, or fail to defend the thesis, are dismissed from the university.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING:

Successful students who have completed at least one semester, excluding scientific preparation, in a graduate program of an institute department/institute of art or another higher education institution at the university can apply to graduate programs through horizontal transfer.

PROGRAM QUALIFICATION:

1) She/He has comprehensive, systematic and expert knowledge about concepts, theories, principles, facts and paradigms in her field and related disciplines in order to be able to think and do research.
2) She/He has detailed information on internal and external environmental factors, service delivery processes and operations, organizational management, policies and strategies of the organizations in her field.
3) List the important and current problems and information needs in the service area and nearby areas.

4) It establishes relationships between the field and information, theories and models in related disciplines and combines information.
5) Knowledge, theories, models, etc. in the field and related disciplines. uses and develops when conducting research or designing and managing service processes.
6) Analyzes and synthesizes scientific knowledge, theories, methods, models in the field and related disciplines and evaluates them with a critical approach.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS AND RULES PRESENTED IN THE PROGRAM:

The student who has a master's degree with thesis; Even if he/she has passed all his/her courses, his/her GPA cannot be less than 2.50 to qualify for graduation. He is obliged to take repeat or new courses until he meets the average requirement.

EXAMS, MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION:

(1) Exams; It consists of a quiz, midterm, final exam, make-up exam and a make-up exam instead of the midterm exam.
(2) Exams; written exam, test exam and/or can be done verbally, homework, project, seminar work or applied, provided that it is documented.
(3) Exams are held according to the program prepared by the relevant department and approved and announced by the institute, excluding short exams. Student ID cards are required to take the exams.
(4) Exams are not held outside the university buildings. However, with the decision of the related institute administrative board, the exams made within the framework of distance education based on information and communication technologies can also be held outside the University buildings.
(5) The make-up exam is the exam held at the end of the semester in which the course is taught, for students who have fulfilled the conditions specified in this Regulation to take the final exam and failed the final exam, and for students who failed the final exam at the end of the semester. For each failed course, a make-up exam is granted.
