PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM:

Visual Communication Design has embraced a role in contributing to science, artistic production, and technological advancements. We adhere to multidimensional quality standards, wherein the academic staff consistently renews itself within the framework of innovations. We meticulously plan and execute the entire education process, taking measures as necessary. Our approach involves a comprehensive understanding that incorporates principles for constructing a creative, innovative, and sustainable structure. This structure integrates theoretical and practical education to generate works that are innovative, creative, and original in the visual field. Our aim is to achieve both sectoral and scientific advancements through these endeavors.

DEGREE AWARDED:

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Lisans of .

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:

Turkish students are admitted to the Visual Communication Design department based on the SÖZ score type from the results of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:

For a student to successfully graduate from the Visual Communication Design program, the following criteria must be met:

Overall Grade Point Average (GPA):
The student must attain a minimum overall GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00.Completion of

Compulsory Courses:
Successful completion of all compulsory courses in the education program is required.

Completion of All Other Studies:
Successful completion of all other studies specified in the program is necessary.

ECTS Credits Workload:
The student should have completed a total of 240 ECTS credits within the program.

Graduation Decision:
The decision for graduation must be made by the relevant Board of Directors.

Additionally:

In accordance with the provisions of the relevant legislation, a diploma supplement issued in English, along with the diploma, is provided to students who have been approved for graduation. This diploma supplement aims to provide detailed information about the nature, level, context, content, and status of the studies completed by the student.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING:

Through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) conducted by OSYM, students who have completed associate degree programs have the opportunity to enroll in undergraduate programs that are a natural progression from their respective fields of study.

Under the guidelines outlined in the Regulation on the Principles of Transition Between Associate Degree and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, as well as policies governing Double Major, Minor, and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer, students are eligible for admission to equivalent programs at our university. The University Senate establishes and upholds these principles.

Furthermore, in accordance with these guidelines, students from other higher education institutions are welcomed through inter-institutional transfer to equivalent programs at our university. Students who meet the specified conditions also have the right to enroll in Double Major and Minor Programs. These opportunities provide a flexible and dynamic academic environment, encouraging students to pursue additional areas of interest or specialization.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS AND RULES PRESENTED IN THE PROGRAM:

The completion requirements for a student to successfully finish a course, whether it be a theoretical course, practical, seminar, individual study, exams, assignments, etc., are outlined in the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). ECTS operates as a student-centered credit system, taking into account the workload of the student. It is mandatory for students to enroll in courses totaling at least 30 ECTS credits in each semester.

Upon graduation, a student's success is determined by their ACADEMIC AVERAGE. Success in individual courses is evaluated by considering the midterm exam grade along with the average of the final or make-up exam.

To be eligible for graduation, a student must meet the following criteria:

Successfully complete all courses in the curriculum.
Accumulate a minimum of 120 ECTS credits.
Attain a GPA of at least 60 out of 100.

EXAMS, MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION:

Examinations at Istanbul Kent University are scored on a scale of 100 full grades. The final grade for a course is calculated by combining 40% of the mid-year grade average with 60% of the final exam grade.
