Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: In this course, the definition of attachment, attachment theories, four major attachment styles, the effects of attachment on psychopathology, definition of consciousness, different states of consciousness, unconscious processes are among the topics to be examined.
Course Objective: This course will provide an overview of attachment theory which is increasingly influential in clinical thinking and practice.
Students will gain an understanding of the development of attachment bonds and the impact of disruption of this system on social, emotional and cognitive development. Also, this course will provide an overview of consciousness and states of consciousness.

This course will offer students the opportunity to critically consider current thinking in the clinical application of the theory.
