Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: Introduction to Modern Poetry is an immersive exploration of the dynamic and transformative world of 20th-century verse. This course embarks on a journey through the labyrinthine landscapes of modernist poetry, delving into the innovative, experimental, and often revolutionary works of renowned poets who reshaped the literary landscape during a time of seismic cultural and historical change.
Course Objective: Gain a comprehensive understanding of the key characteristics, themes, and innovations of modernist poetry within its historical and cultural context.
Develop the ability to critically analyze and interpret modernist poems, identifying formal elements, literary devices, and underlying meanings.
Explore a diverse range of modernist poets gaining exposure to different styles and perspectives within modernist poetry.
