Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: To comprehend the importance of nutrition in the health and occupational safety of workers who play an important role in the national economy and production. To discuss the energy and nutrient needs of workers and to explain the role of nutrition in their working performance
Course Objective: Occupational health and safety, energy and nutrient needs according to occupational groups, nutrition principles and practices of workers in and out of the workplace.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge (Described as Theoritical and/or Factual Knowledge.)
  1) Knows the energy and nutrient needs of individuals according to their occupations. Knows the problems that may be encountered in worker nutrition.
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) Understands the importance of worker nutrition. Can make menu planning according to the characteristics of occupational groups. Master the principles and practices of nutrition in and out of the workplace.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) Learns the effect of nutrition on work efficiency. To be able to comment on the plans and policies developed on the subject and to have the ability to produce ideas and to speak at seminars or meetings related to the subject.
