Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: Türkiye's Caucasus and Central Asia policies are shaped by its historical, cultural, political and economic relations with the countries in the region as well as its foreign policies. After the dissolution of the USSR, Türkiye has had to reconstruct its relations with the newly independent Turkic Republics, with which it has historical, cultural, friendship and brotherhood relations, and to formulate new policies towards these countries. It is aimed to analyze Türkiye's Caucasus and Central Asia policies within an international structural situation in which the countries of the region and global powers (USA, Russia, EU, China) are involved.

Course Objective: It is aimed to inform the students about the Caucasus and Central Asian countries and Global Actors (USA, Russia, EU, China) and their regional policies, to teach Türkiye's Caucasus and Central Asia Policies within the framework of the international structural situation in which the countries of the region and global powers are involved within the framework of system and state level analysis.
