Course Objectives: | Language and Culture is designed to be an introductory level course. Students become familiar with the theory and research related to issues such as 1) the relationship of language and culture; 2) the linguistic signs and cultural encodings, 3) the relationship between class, race, gender, 4) spoken, oral culture 5) language and cultural identity. |
