Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: It is aimed to provide competence in evaluating the nutritional status of the patient after bariatric surgery and creating an appropriate nutritional treatment plan.
Course Objective: It is aimed to gain knowledge and skills on evaluating pre- and post-bariatric surgery follow-up in the treatment of morbid obesity, resolving long- and short-term complications related to diet, and conducting multidisciplinary work with nutritional support and diet treatment.

  1) Gains knowledge about bariatric surgery indications, contraindications and methods, nutritional deficiencies and metabolic complications that may be associated with bariatric surgery methods.

  1) Gains skills in evaluating and monitoring nutritional status in bariatric surgery.

  1) Gains competence in calculating the patient's needs before and after bariatric surgery, classifying the complications of bariatric surgery patients, and creating an appropriate nutritional treatment plan for the patient.
