Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: The aim is for the student to grasp the knowledge and skills necessary to protect and promote reproductive and women's health throughout all periods of a woman's life.
Course Objective: The aim is to evaluate reproductive health problems and affecting factors in the world and in Turkey, and the health of women according to their life stages, to protect and improve the health of mother, fetus and newborn in gynecological problems and prenatal, natal and postnatal periods, and to plan appropriate nursing care within the framework of evidence-based approaches to ensure early diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation in cases where health deviates from normal.

  1) 1. Explain the health problems a woman may encounter depending on her life stage. 2. Explain the importance of midwifery care during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. 3. Explain the importance and benefits of breast milk and breastfeeding for both mother and baby. 4. Explain the diagnostic and treatment methods used in gynecology and obstetrics.
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) 1. Able to make nursing diagnoses regarding health problems that women may encounter at all life stages and develop the necessary individualized care plan. 2. Able to implement disease-specific nursing care for reproductive cycle anomalies, benign gynecological diseases, and gynecological cancers. 3. Able to plan and create family planning educational content tailored to the individual's needs.

  1) 1. Compare different methods and techniques regarding pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care, as well as breastfeeding and breastfeeding. 2. Discuss nonpharmacological methods for managing pain in gynecological and obstetric cases. 3. Discuss complications that may arise during the treatment of gynecological diseases and possible nursing interventions.
