| Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts, sources, and structure of public international law and to enable them to comprehend how international law is created, interpreted, and applied within the international system. The course seeks to develop students’ ability to analyse the rights and obligations of states, international organisations, and individuals under international law, and to evaluate the functioning of international courts and tribunals. It further aims to familiarise students with major substantive areas of international law, including international human rights law, international humanitarian law, international criminal law, the law of the sea, and the law governing the use of force. Through a combination of theoretical and case-based approaches, the course aims to equip students with the skills necessary to apply international legal rules to concrete situations, analyse judicial decisions, and critically assess contemporary global issues from an international legal perspective. |
| Course Objective: | The aim of this course is to enable students to acquire knowledge of the fundamental concepts, principles, and sources of international law (remembering); understand the historical development, theoretical foundations, and functioning of international law within the international system (understanding); apply international legal rules and judicial decisions to concrete cases (applying); analyze the rights and obligations arising under international law for states, international organizations, and individuals (analyzing); critically evaluate the role and effectiveness of international law in addressing contemporary global challenges (evaluating); and develop coherent, well‑reasoned, and academically grounded legal arguments concerning international legal disputes (creating). |
