Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: To define the types of scoliosis according to age, etiology and affected spinal segment. To know the necessary postural analysis and evaluation components in scoliosis and to apply them on the patient.
Course Objective: Learning the exercise modalities used in the treatment of scoliosis. To know the bracing methods used in scoliosis. To distinguish scoliosis from other spinal disorders.

  1) Defines scoliosis.
  2) Knows the tests and methods used to evaluate physical fitness.
  3) Groups scoliosis according to its types and etiology.
  4) Recognizes and defines deformity and posture disorders in scoliosis.
  5) Counts the muscles that need to be strengthened in scoliosis.

  1) He/she can apply the strengthening exercises that should be applied in scoliosis on the patient.
  2) Arranges and applies 3-dimensional exercises in scoliosis according to the type of scoliosis.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) Applies posture analysis in scoliosis.
  2) Applies scoliosis-specific exercises.
