Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: Examining popular music as an art form, social movement, and commercial commodity. Understanding the role music plays in politics. Explaning the relationship between music and social identities in the world. Understanding how music is used to both encourage and resist social and political change.
Course Objective: Grasping the importance of popular music styles of the period in many issues in which citizens and governments interact, such as the development and transmission of protest culture and political culture.
