Purpose and content of the course

| Course Objective: | To understand the significance of culture in human society To understand the cultural dimensions of language and communication To learn the functions of religion and belief in society To be able to distinguish between different aspects of social stratification To understand the different dimensions of gender stratification To become familiar with different production and subsistence methods To be able to distinguish between political structures in pre-modern and modern societies To grasp the cultural dimensions of disease and healing |
