Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: Gaining information about concepts and theories about gender, feminist theories, gender roles, being able to comprehend the consequences of gender inequality.
Course Objective: To know the theoretical knowledge about gender and the consequences of gender inequality.

  1) To have knowledge about the basic concepts and theories of gender and its historical development.
  2) To have knowledge about social structure and gender relations.
  3) To have knowledge of the patriarchal system and its functioning process.
  4) To have knowledge about feminist theories.
  5) To have an understanding of issues about the relationships between gender and social policies.
  6) To have an understanding of the unequal position of women and men in society.
