Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: To gain competencies related to language development, cognitive development and theories of children in early childhood.
Course Objective: At the end of this course, students; will be able to effectively benefit from the principles of language development and cognitive development theories in the planning, implementation and evaluation activities of their own fields.

  1) Comprehends the basic concepts of cognitive and language development and theories of cognitive and language development.

  1) Compares cognitive and language development theories.
  2) Explain the causes of individual differences in cognitive and language development and the factors affecting cognitive and language development.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) Gains knowledge and experience about cognitive and language development assessment of children and supportive studies
  2) Learns early language skills and components of language in childhood.
  3) Offers suggestions to support the cognitive, language and concept development of children in different developmental stages.
  4) Learns the evaluation of cognitive and language development.
