Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: Gains knowledge about the concept of social structure, theories explaining this concept and parts of Turkey's social structure.
Course Objective: In the light of concepts and theories explaining the social structure, he/she has information about culture and cultural change, family institution and related problems, education and related problems in Turkey and explains them in a comprehensive way.

  1) Has the knowledge to establish a connection between the social and the structure.
  2) Has knowledge of different aspects of the social structure in Turkey, such as religion, demography and ethnicity.

  1) It establishes connections between social problems, daily life and individuals.
  2) Evaluates the main problems and issues of stratification in Turkey.

  1) Follows the transformation and problems of institutions in Turkey's social structure and applies solution methods for these problems.
  2) Constructs and implements egalitarian approaches towards different groups or minorities in Turkey.
