Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: It aims to provide theoretical and practical skills in the field of internal medicine and the knowledge, skills and attitudes to care for individuals and families with a holistic and systematic approach and to provide training and consultancy in this field.
Course Objective: 1. Ability to identify current and possible problems of an individual with internal medicine problems
2. Ability to synthesize the theoretical knowledge gained in this course with the knowledge gained in other courses.
3. Being able to care for sick individuals in line with basic life needs and a holistic view
4. Adopting a problem-solving approach when performing maintenance
5. Establishing effective communication with the healthy/patient individual, family, society and all members of the healthcare team

Knowledge (Described as Theoritical and/or Factual Knowledge.)
  1) 1) To be able to explain the basic principles, roles and responsibilities, and importance of internal medicine nursing. 2) To be able to identify risk factors and risk groups related to system diseases 3) Being able to explain nursing care for individuals with systems-related diseases 4) Ability to pay attention to ethical rules while performing nursing interventions applied to healthy/sick individuals.

  1) 1)Being able to identify, plan, implement and evaluate problems that may occur related to system diseases (Using the nursing process steps)
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) "1. Explains the etiology and risk factors of internal diseases 2. Distinguish the signs and symptoms of internal diseases 3. Interprets diagnostic tests and laboratory findings related to internal medicine 4. Applies the treatment plan for internal diseases 5. Collects data, provides care, and evaluates the results of care for individuals with internal medicine problems and their families, using the nursing process, with a holistic and systematic approach. 6. Provides training and consultancy to individuals and families by using theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of internal medicine nursing. 7. Collaborates with the healthcare team by using effective communication methods while performing their roles in internal medicine nursing.
