Purpose and content of the course

Course Objectives: In this course, it is aimed to lay the groundwork for students to develop effective communication skills in a foreign language by learning the basic principles and theories necessary for them to perform effectively in their academic studies and in their professional life after graduation.
Course Objective: It is aimed that students who successfully complete this course will acquire written and verbal communication skills in English at the "Independent User" level specified in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Knowledge (Described as Theoritical and/or Factual Knowledge.)
  1) Knowledge of basic greetings, introductions, and fundamental dialogue rules.
  2) Knowledge of methods for conveying personal data (phone, e-mail, name) in English.
  3) Knowledge of nouns and prepositions describing the positions of objects and places.
  4) Knowledge of patterns for making requests, giving instructions, and apologizing.
  5) Knowledge of adjectives describing personal interests and character traits.
  6) Knowledge of time structures expressing daily routines and home life.
  7) Knowledge of methods for inquiring about lifestyles and social habits.
  8) Knowledge of habits, neighborhood units, and time concepts (clocks).
  9) Knowledge of mechanisms for making suggestions and receiving advice.
  10) Knowledge of past tense structures and verb conjugations.
  11) Knowledge of chronological ordering, and the structure of noun and verb clauses.
  12) Knowledge of comparative grammar comparing the past and the present.
